image3Mr. Udaya R. Seneviratne who served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research has retired from the service.



One of the most experienced and respected officers of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service who boasts 37 years of experience, Mr. Seneviratne has previously as permanent secretary of the Ministries of Sports, Highways, Investment Promotion, Environment and Mahaweli Development.

He was instrumental in establishing the National Institute of Cooperative Development at Pologolla and during his lengthy public service he initiated several such large scale projects of the state sector.

image4During his brief period of service as the Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research, he played a leading role in launching a number of special projects to advance innovations in the field of science and technology.

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Research takes this opportunity extend its best wishes to Mr Udaya R. Seneviratne for his selfless service to mother Sri Lanka and wishes him courage and good health to render a more fruitful service to the country in future.
