dsc 5572For the first time, the Ministry of Science Technology and Research organized the STS forum (Science and Technology for Society) for the purpose of use of science, technology and innovations for sustainable development under the direction of Hon. Minister Mr. Susil Premajayantha in Colombo from 8th to 10th September 2016.

01Hon. Minister of Science Technology and Research Mr. Susil Premajayantha and Hon. State Minister of the same Ministry Mr. Lakshman Seneviratne participated at the opening of Padukka new Vidatha Resource Center under the concept of "Technology to Village" on 06.03.2017.

The Hon. Minister of Science, Technology and Research Mr. Susil Premajaytha addressed the event on Wednesday 3 May 2017 in Geneva, to mark the visit to CERN by the first scientific delegation from Sri Lanka comprising 5 Sri Lankan physicists representing universities of Sri Lanka from 3-5 May 2017.

03The National Work Plan for Solid Waste Management organized by the Ministry of Science Technology and Research was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on 23 and 24th of June 2017 with the participation of Hon. Minister of Science Technology and Research, Mr. Susil Premajayantha & Hon. Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Mr. Faizer Musthapha.

A team comprising 7 Sri Lankan inventors led by Dr. Mahesh Edirisinghe, Commissioner of Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC) participated in the 45th edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions held at Palexpo, Geneva from 29th March to 02nd April 2017.
