The south Asian Workshop on detector technologies and applications of High-Energy physics instrumentation, organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology & Research and the European organization for Nuclear Research, in collaboration with the Universities of Ruhuna and Colombo, was inaugurated today (20th) at the BMICH, under the patronage of Sujeewa Senasinghe, Hon. Minster of Science, Technology & Research.
The Ministry of Science Technology and Research has invited all the universities in Sri Lanka to actively participate in “Shilpa Sena” Program which is going to launch under the patronage of Hon. Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe.
The appointment of new chairpersons and members of the board of directors for the institutions under Ministry of Science, Technology and Research was carried out with the guidance of Hon. Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe at the Ministry Auditorium.
The Citra Social Innovation Lab, co - developed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research and the United Nations Development Programme, was officially launched under the auspices of Prime Minster Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo today. (13 February 2019)
"Shilpa Sena" to make science, technology & research knowledge more accessible to the general public
In order to minimize the distance between science, technology and research field and the general public, and to bring the industry closer to the people, a discussion was held on the creation of the operational model of the "Shilapila Sena" program which was chaired by the Hon. Minister of Science Technology and Research. Secretary and Officers from the Ministry and the officers from affiliated institutions participated in this.
